ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Laura Smith is a London-based glass artist from the island of Bermuda. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art specialising in glass in 2007 and has 13 year’s experience working with glass. Laura set up her own practice in 2014 and creates hand-blown glasswork using her extensive skills in creating hot glass to capture the incandescent qualities of glass combined with precious metals.
Laura’s work is heavily influenced by growing up on an island and draws from nature as source material. Intrigued by storms, water and the systems impacted in our environment, collections of vases and lighting draw from events and natural phenomena in nature.
