Our founder kicked off 2024 with a speaking event at Top Drawer, the well-established exhibition for design-led brands from new emerging designers to more seasoned businesses held semi-annually. The trade show welcomes a diverse audience of creative retailers and interior professionals and attracts buyers across department stores, independent retailers, multiples retailers, buying groups, online retailers, interior designers and contract buyers from across the UK and beyond.
During January’s event covering Spring/Summer 2024, they invited our Founder Stacy Chan to give a masterclass at Retail Fest, their speaker series, and share her journey in retail and insights into the future of sustainable fashion.
The audience had some great questions about the founding of PLATFORM as a store, the development of our sustainable ethos, how we select and work with our independent designers, how Stacy felt about the current retail climate and the opportunities for growth ahead.
As usual, the audience connected with her honesty about the challenges she saw in the current economic environment in the UK and how that was affecting retail, especially as a small business. However, she shared her optimism about the future for PLATFORM specifically and in general, independent retail that connects with its customer base who value transparency and ethical practices.
