LAURA ELIZABETH GLASS
We love the details in Laura's glasswork and how each piece draws inspiration from nature. Each piece has different flecks of colour and metal materials incorporated in the glass, making them truly one of a kind.
Surface vases have a softly worn texture and are inspired by the ocean. Woven into the surface with a soft luminosity the gorgeous patina of the copper leaf is revealed.

- Dimensions 12 x 12 cm

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Laura Smith is a London-based glass artist from the island of Bermuda. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art specialising in glass in 2007 and has 13 year’s experience working with glass. Laura set up her own practice in 2014 and creates hand-blown glasswork using her extensive skills in creating hot glass to capture the incandescent qualities of glass combined with precious metals.
Laura’s work is heavily influenced by growing up on an island and draws from nature as source material. Intrigued by storms, water and the systems impacted in our environment, collections of vases and lighting draw from events and natural phenomena in nature.
